Folios And Notebooks Are Classics

There are some things in my drawer that I deem as classic items. These include all the promotional folios and notebooks that I’ve collected as gifts, giveaways, and those that I bought in different bookstores and hobby shops. I really treasure these items because I really grew up with it.

My fondness over folios started when my mom convinced me to start making a diary at a young age. She gave me my first diary when I was in first grade. That same notebook is locked up along with my other prized possessions up to now. That gift not only taught me how to improve my handwriting, but also how I can improve writing down what I think and feel. She always reminded me of how important it is to know the art of making your feelings known to others.

I remember when my job was to hand out promotional clipboards binders folders in a mall. My life really sucked back then. I knew that it giving out promotional products was not the job fit for me, and that I am built for bigger things. I wrote a letter to the boss that somehow convinced him that I deserved a promotion.

Now that I’m a corporate person already, and that I always have a couple of promotional briefcases with me, I don’t think anything changed. How I treated the gifts my mom gave me when I was a teenager is the same up to now. I’m even starting to teach my own kids how to write down their thoughts on the notebooks of their choice.
